Why aren't there Tons of Negative Google Reviews?
One thing that strikes me as odd is that the Evolve Restoration Google Business Profiles (GBPs) don't have tons of negative reviews. Evolve has racked up numerous complaints on the BBB. Yelp shows more negative reviews than positive reviews. So where are the negative reviews on Google?
I spoke with one person who left reviews, and none of them are live. I wonder if the people who left a negative review know that their review was removed. Evolve may have flagged the reviews for removal, or Google may have performed a sweep and removed the reviews. Could Evolve be scaring people into taking down the reviews they wrote?
One theme I noticed when I looked at the GBPS for all of Evolve is how the reviews are replied to. In my opinion, the replies are meant to scare the reviewer into removing them. One example is the reply to Dres Mag's 1-star review. The reply admits that Evolve wants to rectify the issue. That is followed up with a but. The reply continues with "However, your review contains disputed factual statements and omits material context:" The reply ends with this threat, "California legal notice and demand: Publishing false statements of fact about a business may constitute defamation under California law, including California Civil Code §§ 44–46 (defamation; libel and slander). You are hereby demanded to either (1) provide documentation supporting the factual claims in your review, or (2) remove and retract the review promptly so the public record is accurate."
First off, the reply downplays the issue and blames the reviewer's insurance company. Then the replier resorts to threatening to sue the person to remove this review. Is this a bully tactic? I believe it is.
If you wrote a review for one of Evolve Restoration's GBPs, check the GBP when you are not logged into Google. If you removed your review under duress, please repost it as long as it's factual.
